Classic Annapurna This trek is the longer version of community treks developed by award winner Mahabir Pun that continues to Khopra ridge in the Annapurnas, an amazing view point next to Annapurna south and Annapurna Fang. The sacred Khair Lake can be visited on the rest day. The trek ends at Tatopani or continue to Tadapani and Ghandruk of Chhomrong

Day 1: Pokhara to Galeshwor and Bas Kharka (1525m)

After breakfast drive to Galeshwor via Beni and start trek up to Bas Kharka. Its short hike to this orange country after crossing the river Kali Gandaki

Day 2: Nagi (2300m)

Continue trek to a large Pun Magar settlements, the center of this community eco-lodge trek. Its great exploring the village and its organic farm school and paper making places.

Day 3: Mohare Danda (3300m)

Trek through the forest of oaks, bamboo and rhododendrons to Mohare hill that offers stunning view of one of the longest chains of mountains. The sunset and sunrise on these mountains is simply amazing sight. Overnight community lodge/homestay

Day 4: Danda Kharka (2800m)

Relaxing day, a short descend down brings you to Danda Kharka located in the middle of beautiful rhododendrons forest.

Day 5: Danda Kharka to Swanta (2200m)

It's really wonderful to go through the rhododendron forest and then Daphne (Lokta, Nepali paper plants) passing the natural streams, pastures with the mountain views popping up now and then. Look for the beautiful birds such as White-collared Black Birds and Yuhinas especially around the sacred pond. The trail further drops down to the river and makes a small climb to arrive a small village of Swanta.

Day 6: Swanta to Dhan Kharka (2980m)

Leaving the village the trail climbs with the view of Dhaulagiri and the LUSH forest slope on its right to arrive a large clearing at Libang and drops down to the river.  After crossing the river, the trail further makes steep ascend, though the oak forest. Watch out for stinging nettle growing along the trail at the Goth area. Dhan Kharka is located below the ridge of Khopra, surrounded by the forest.

Day 7: Dhan Kharka to Khopra (3650m)

It's a short day to Khopra that is situated right next to Annapurna south and Baraha Shikar, which looks dramatic. The trail steeply makes a climb, leaving the tree lines. The mountain goats can be seen grazing on the slops, along with the birds such as Chukur, Black-faced Laughingthrush and tits can be seen Khopra is on such a location that offers the astonishing, 360 degree views of mountains and the rolling hills.

Day 8: Day at Khopra for optional excursion trip or rest

Day can be spent resting amidst the wonderful scenic Khopra but can be also use to take an excursion to the sacred Khayer Lake  at an elevation of 4600m. This is a full day hike and hence you would be taking this tour with water and pack lunch. The lake is popular destination for the locals during the Janai Purnima festival that falls in the month of August every year.

Day 9: Khopra to Narchang (2000m)

It's another beautiful day through the rich and wonderful forest that changes from rhododendrons, pine to temperate forest. There is no settlement except few pastures and Goth before the Narchang village. The trail makes descends down to Narchang, yet another

Day 10: Narchang to Pokhara (930m)

A short descends down to the road after the village of lower Narchang and river Kaligandaki is crossed on the suspension bridge. The view of Kaligandaki valley and the deepest gorge formed by the two 8000m peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna is very picturesque. From the road we board on the bus back to Pokhara via Tatopani and Beni.
